The Beach Boys put the California sound on the map, with an earth-shaking magnitude that still rocks the world today! Their signature sound, also known as surf rock, became a trailblazing movement that braved a head-on collision with the British Invasion of the sixties.
Formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, the original Beach Boys line-up includes the Wilson brothers - Brian, Dennis, and Carl, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. With their first-ever hit single "Surfin' U.S.A.", The Beach Boys rode high on the waves of commercial success and critical acclaim. The Beach Boys also created massive ripples as they transcended to psychedelic power pop sounds, specifically on the album "Pet Sounds", which was recognized as one of the landmark albums that continue to impact many generations of musicians and music fans alike and influence the so-called modern music of multifarious generations.
