It’s not EVERY DAY that we get to vibe out right here on stage with our favorite R&B legends whenever they make their way to Long Island here for all of us to enjoy and rage at whenever we get the chance. Iconic summer nights are common when we have some of the biggest artists in the world coming here over the long season - and this year, we’re doing it all the same. And we are HYPED to welcome back Ne-Yo to the stage after TWENTY years since the last time he came here to Jones Beach as he and Akon bring their Nights Like This Tour to town this Wednesday, July 22nd. Two legendary shows from the biggest hitmakers of the 2000s, sharing one stage, one night, and running it back with the songs that defined an entire era - it’s a can’t miss show, cause when they’re gone y’all, they’re gone! With stops lined up all across the country - from Raleigh and Atlanta to Tampa, Chicago, Dallas and the West Coast - we’re lucky enough to catch them right here on the water for what’s shaping up to be a real summer classic under the stars. Ne-Yo first entered the mainstream scene in 2004, and his claim to fame came almost instantly - ironically enough, not as a singer, but as a songwriter. Before most people even knew his name, he had already written “Let Me Love You” for Mario, and for countless other stars across the music industry . That record went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the rest was history for him. From there, Ne-Yo became one of the most in-demand writers in the industry, penning hits for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, and more, while quietly building his own solo career behind the scenes.

By 2006, Ne-Yo officially stepped into the spotlight with his debut album In My Own Words, and it was game over. “So Sick” became a worldwide smash, the album went platinum, and Ne-Yo instantly established himself as the new face of modern R&B. He followed it up with Because of You (2007) and Year of the Gentleman (2008) — both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and produced classics like “Closer,” and “Miss Independent.” At his peak, Ne-Yo was untouchable -dominating radio, award shows, and charts all at once. And his accolades show it all, too. Ne-Yo is a three-time Grammy Award winner, has earned over 20 Grammy nominations, and has sold over 20 million albums and 40+ million singles worldwide.
