DEEP PURPLE 2026 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

It’s bound to be a legendary concert night as DEEP PURPLE serves their biggest hits, deep cuts, and surprises on stage — marking a 2026 North American Tour. After performing shows in Japan and Europe, the band is ready to take over with U.S. dates once more in August. As one of the “Holy Trinity” of hard rock acts in the 60s, they pack plenty of hard-hitting tunes that defined an era of rock, metal, and progressive bangers. With a seven-decade career to their name, current members Ian Paice, Roger Glover, Ian Gillan, Don Airey, and Simon McBride just keep on raising the bar with new music and continuous tours. 

A DEEP DIVE INTO DEEP PURPLE

This British rock band was formed in 1968, hailing from London as a psychedelic rock and progressive rock band. Widely considered as a pioneer of hard rock and heavy metal, Deep Purple’s massive rise came as the band shifted its sound to something heavier — through their 1970 album “Deep Purple in Rock.” It featured their iconic tracks “Child in Time,” “Speed King,” “Into the Fire,” and more. This album introduced the “Mark II” era of the band, one that featured Gillan, Blackmore, Glover, Lord, and Paice — the fellas largely responsible for their “Holy Grail” anthems. 

“Along with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple were the third in the holy trinity of bands who laid down the blueprint for hard rock and heavy metal in the late 60s and early 70s,” wrote Ken McIntyre of Metal Hammer.

Their music across those seven decades? Phenomenal. First of all, they were LOUD… loud as hell, and fans who’ve been to their concerts know they raise the bar in their shows. With riffs described as “criminal” by BBC, “Smoke On The Water” marked one of history’s best guitar riffs, exclaimed by critics and longtime fans. 

“We did the whole thing in about four takes because we had to,” Ritchie Blackmore shared with Radio 2. “The police were banging on the door. We knew it was the police, but we had such a good sound in this hall.”

Ranked among the most influential bands in the world, selling over 100 million records throughout their history. Finally inducted on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 8 April 2016 with fellow inductees Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, they officially formed the Holy Trinity of British hard rock acts that made rock-out history.
