Alter rockers 311 rose to prominence in the 90s with their highly acclaimed gold and platinum selling records. The band first made waves in 1993 with Music, a bubbling effort that would be on the verge of breakthrough. The following year, Grassroots because their breakthrough album after charting at number 8 on the Heatseekers chart, putting 311 in the rock circuit map. 1995’s self titled album became their landmark effort after hitting number 1 on the Heatseekers and breaking into Billboard 200’s Top 20. The album sold over three million copies, an astounding feat for a self released act. 311 continued to tour relentlessly earning a cult following. Today, the quintet is known for their amazing live performances and high energy on stage.
